Chanukka/Hanukkah in Oregon

Before you wonder why I posted my last Post in English? Oli gave me this idea and I think it's fun to write in english and I'm in Amerika here so ... why not!? ;-)

I forgot these, here are some more pictures from the 3rd Thanksgiving meal at Aunt Honey's place in Oregon:

Josh is recording a lot of videos with his kids which he's editing later then. They are very good edited and it's fun to play with the kids. Here, we made up another story, called "Death by Fart". When Josh is done editing, he said I'll get a copy of it. Jaida, Adina and me played the rich women at a Cocktail party in the movie. I'm going to post the video as soon as I'll get it.

So... Last weekend, we drove to Oregon again, to visit Veronica's brother Josh, his wife Palmira from Peru and their kids Adina (5) and Alejo/Alejandro (8). Josh is Jewish, so we all celebrated Hanukkah together. Another new great experience!

This is in Portland

First of all, here's the story of Chanukka, for all these people who have no idea what it is, like me before! (Sorry, did get it rotated)

Also at Joshes house, I met Jill. Jill is another one of my siblings aunts and she works as the personal assistent of LEONADO DI CAPRIO! She works for him now after she quit for Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise! I was so excited when I heard this and she told me a lot about her job. One time this evening she told me that she just talked to him on the phone and I missed a chance to talk to him. That was so mean when she said that! But I think she was just kidding, she'd never be allowed to let me talk to him. But that would have been really funny, Leonado is half german and half italian and she said he still knows a little bit German :-)

For Chanukka, they actually give each other presents every day of the 8 days of celebration. But this year it wasn't everyday. Anyway, Paula (grandmother) and David(grandfather) gave me and jaida a shopping gift card so all the girls went shopping together in Oregon.

On Sunday Keshaun Jaida and me drove  back to Washington by train. I loved to travel in an american train, you have so much space for your legs and the normal seats feel like first class! So the 6 1/2 hours in the train were very comfortable.

Adina is one of the cutest girls, I have ever met!!

Tomorrow, I'm going to Oregon again, this time for the Portland Blazer's Basketball game with my Marketing class! I'm very excited and I'll let you know everything about it tomorrow or as soon as I'll have a opportunity to write again.

The very best regards
Love, Johanna

Thanksgiving weekend

November 27th was Thanksgiving! One of the events I was looking forward for so long.
The first day, I went to Carl's house very early in the morning. Later the kids carl and me helped setting up everything at Abuela's house, their kids grandmother. (abuela = spanish, grandmother). We had lot's of different food and traditional meals what everybody brought. Carl's whole family was there. And of cause we had a biiiiggg Turkey, but not how I thought we'd have it as a big bird on the table, but cut in a lot of small peaces. Still good. Actually I didn't taste much different than Chicken, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, though.

After a while, Veronica who was not at this Thanksgiving meal, asked me if I'm interested in going with her to a friends house, so I had my second Thanksgiving meal at her friend Anna's house. Anna just got a baby a few weeks ago, on the picture, the little boy is one week old. And I was allowed to feed him!! I'd never hold a newborn baby before and it was sooo cute.

At... I think Friday, Jaida Jeshaun Veronica Thor and me drove down to Oregon to visit Aunt honey, whos real name is aunt Helen actually. Jaida wanted to make a video diary on our Oregon Trip, so she recorded every little second with her little camera. Aunt honey has a beautiful big house and lives there together with Zoey and Lucy, her dogs. She invited us and a bunch of other family members for another (!) Thanksgiving meal, so it was a lot of Turkey for me at my first Thanksgiving celebration! Also Aunt honey bought tickets for us for the Oregon Ducks Football game! The stadium is about right around the corner so we walked there. It was HUGE! They played against the Arizona Wildcats, and Of cause THEY WON! ;-) The oregon Ducks are the NUMBER ONE in the Country, you have to know. So it was a very good game with a lot of Duck Spirit.

That was kinda funny, whenever the Ducks scored, the Duck mascot had to make as many push-ups as points of the team. First I thought "I want to become a mascot one day! " But when I saw his hard work-out, I overthought my wish pretty quick. I bet he has to work very hard for this job!

GO DUCKS!
